We build wooden patterns, core boxes and pattern equipment for sand casting. From a single loose pattern to models the size of a building, every piece is shaped and checked by experienced pattern makers.
If it can be cast, we can build the model.
Most pattern shops are limited by the bed of their machine. We are not. Large models are built in sections by hand, assembled, checked against the drawing and shipped ready for moulding.
Built in sections
Large models are split into sections that are made in parallel, then joined with dowels and locating faces so they assemble the same way every time.
Checked at full size
Dimensions, contraction allowance and draft are checked on the assembled model before it leaves the shop, not only on the drawing.
Shipped ready to mould
Crated, marked and delivered to your foundry anywhere in Europe. Oversized models travel in sections with assembly marks.
The part machines don't know.
A good model is more than the shape on the drawing. Where the mould splits, how the metal will shrink and pull, where the cores sit: those decisions come from people who have watched thousands of moulds being made.
Reading the casting
Parting line, draft angles, core prints and machining allowance are set by pattern makers who know how the mould will behave in the sand.
Shaping by eye and hand
Curved surfaces, fillets and organic forms are carved and finished by hand, so the model releases cleanly and the casting comes out right first time.
Repairs and reproductions
Worn or broken patterns restored. No drawing left? We can build a new model from an existing casting or an old pattern.
We have modern machinery, CNC included, for roughing out large volumes quickly. The surface that goes into the sand is finished and checked by hand.
Pattern equipment for sand casting.
For grey iron, ductile iron, steel, aluminium and copper alloys. For hand moulding and machine moulding, single castings and repeat production.
